In the weekend’s only First Division encounter newly promoted Maesglas pulled off an excellent win against current champions St Dogmaels.
Despite both sides missing a number of first team regulars the game started at a frantic pace with there being early chances at both ends before Chris Jones put the home side in front after twenty minutes as he rifled home a Phil Furney cross.
Hard though they tried the Saints had to wait until the second half before they pulled back a deserved equaliser when a poor defensive clearance fell perfectly to Steve Williams who made no mistake from close range.
After a further even period of play Maesglas clinched the points in the final fifteen minutes when following the sending off of Steve Williams Chris Jones set up Phil Furney whose effort beat the advancing Neil Evans in the opposing goal.
In the two games played in the Second Division Pencader and Maesglas Reserves had the upper hand over Bargod and Boncath respectively.
The game at Parc Puw was an exciting tussle with the visitors winning by the odd goal in seven as Dan Jones with a couple, Adrian Hazelby and substitute Dan Griffiths found the net.
Against Boncath young Tom Morgan came off the bench to star for Maesglas with a hat-trick. Veteran Mike Davies and another substitute Arron Eldridge got the other two.
